HEAD OF PEDAGOGICAL RESEARCHSalary Range: £41,545 to £74,819 paReporting to the Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Learning & Teaching, the Centre for Learning, Innovation and Professional Practice (CLIPP) has just been established at Aston. It aims to build on existing good practice and seek to align staff engaged in similar working in partnership for the benefit of the staff and students of the University whilst raising the internal and external profile of learning and teaching. It will provide leadership in technical innovation, pedagogical research and curriculum delivery and assessment as well as resource to enable the Schools to embed their Learning and Teaching Action Plans. The post holder will be responsible for establishing and leading the development of a cross-university Learning and Teaching research group and network and for providing academic leadership and support for staff involved in research into learning and teaching. Applicants will have substantial experience in teaching in the HE sector at all levels. They will also -be experienced research leaders with a strong track record of research into learning and teaching leading to publications and a good level of knowledge and understanding of methodologies for evaluating learning and teaching together with evidence of personal success in generating funding for research. Evidence of the ability to build and lead successful teams of researchers, experience of motivating and supporting staff, experience of disseminating learning and teaching practice and experience of operating at Senior Management level within a higher education establishment are also required. The post could be offered at Senior Lecturer, Reader or Professorial level, depending on the profile and experience of the successful applicant.
