The IoE has been been awarded funding by the HEA of £170,000 for a project looking to bridge the gap between e-learning research and e-learning practice within the IoE – a gap identified during a benchmarking exercise carried out during 2005/6 in conjunction with the Observatory for Borderless Higher Education. 'From Pedagogic Research to Embedded e-Learning' (PREEL) is one of a suite of nine HEA funded projects making up the HEA e-learning Pathfinder Pilot. The project will initially be led by Professor Ashley Kent, Chair of the Learning and Teaching Committee, who will chair the project Steering Group. The project will be co-ordinated by Harvey Mellar, and Magdalena Jara will work as a full-time Research Officer on the project.
