The overall aim of the Putting Knowledge to Work project is to improve practice in Work-based Learning (WBL) by researching how the work-based and subject-based aspects of learning programmes can best fit together. This Briefing Paper summarises the first phase of the research against the agreed project elements and outcomes as outlined in the Project Sheet (May 2006).
